ScubaFy Dive Center was founded in 2011 by Charlie Franks and Holly Hermann in Boulder City, NV.  We are a Full Service Dive Shop and an Instructor Training Facility  & Career Development Center, fully accredited by  IDEA, (The International Diving Educators Association), Established in 1952, IDEA is one of the oldest Dive Training Agencies in the world.          Charlie Franks Charlie Franks is an Instructor Trainer Evaluator and Regional Training Director, the highest level which can be obtained in the Agency.   This means that we can train you from Open Water Diver all of the way up to Instructor.   All ScubaFy classes are taught or directly supervised by Charlie. He has certified many hundreds of safe divers and Instructors, and has personal dives over 1000.  Charlie formally owned Family Scuba Center in Bradenton, FL and Family Scuba & Paintball in Phoenix, AZ.  In addition to his career in diving, Charlie is also a professional, world-renowned Elvis Tribute Artist, who appears nightly in the hit show 2 KINGS at the RIO Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.  He has also appeared in Film and on National TV and also performed for some of the largest Fairs and Festivals around the country.  You can check him out at his website at   www.CharlieFranks.com                                            HOLLY FRANKS          Holly, (formally Holly Hermann) a Las Vegas native, has only been diving for a couple of years but is well on her way to becoming an Instructor herself.  Holly has been a Stage Technician specializing in Video, AV, Projection, and Graphics with Local 720 IATSE (International Association of Theatrical & Stage Employees) for several years and is also the Technical Director for Charlie’s concert shows. Holly is also continuing in her late father,  Virgil Moore’s footsteps, who was a  member of the Sheriffs’ Elite Search    & Recovery Dive Team back in  the 60’s.  More about IDEA In 1987, the majority of certification agencies agreed to form a nonprofit corporation known as the Recreational Scuba Training Council (RSTC).  The RSTC has one purpose for existing: to allow member associations to develop standards in training and to monitor quality control of member organizations for the mutual benefit of the recreational diving industry and general public.  The RSTC was appointed as  the secretariat of the American National Standards Institute and developed and established the ANSI standards for entry Level Scuba Diving. IDEA & the RSTC also formed the World Recreational Scuba Training Council (WRSTC).   RSTC member agencies train over 85% of the divers certified worldwide.  The original founding member agencies of the RSTC were IDEA, NASDS, PADI, PDIC, and SSI.
